filming process:

Principal filming took place over a five-day period on the Southside of Chicago. Additional scenes and the interview sessions were completed in the downtown Chicago area and at Karl Productions’ studios.

In the production of Kevin's Room: Together, Karl Productions’ film crew employed two state-of-the-art Sony XD-Cam F350 disc-based High Definition cameras, ideally suited for reality-based/documentary shooting. The film was shot in 30p mode, which yields a high-quality, film-like final product. These units also delivered superior low-light performance and special effects that were used throughout the shooting. The disc-based camera also provided instant access to footage—an invaluable feature that allowed the director to immediately view scenes

in the field.
